Summer is nearly here – and with the sunshine and warmer weather comes smoothies for breakfast (well, in our home at least). In an attempt to find some new combinations I have used inspiration from a fellow dietitian and food blogger, Fraiche Nutrition and come up with some winner flavour combos that I hope will inspire you to try new things in your kitchen for a tasty and balanced breakfast.

Smoothie Recipe: Green Goodness Smoothie
A tasty green smoothie for a perfect breakfast mix.

Serves: 1
Ingredients
- ½ cup kale/baby spinach
- ½ cup chopped pineapple
- 1 small banana (or ½ large)
- ¼ cup plain yoghurt
- ¼ avocado
- ½ cup LF milk
- 4 ice cubes
Method
- Place all ingredients in your smoothie maker and blend until smooth. Serve immediately in a glass of your choice (or if you're in a rush - in a transportable container for breakfast on the go).
