I think smoothies are such a great go-to breakfast option but often we overdo it with the fruit and end up having a very high sugar content breakfast which wreaks havoc with our insulin levels and hunger throughout the day. This is a great combination of flavours that really starts the day off well. Pack a protein snack for mid-morning and you’ll be set for a great day!
COFFEE & DATE SMOOTHIE
This is a delicious smoothie inspired by Kauai

Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
- 2 Frozen Bananas (previously cut into chunks)
- 125ml Low Fat Milk OR Almond Milk
- 8 Pitted Dates
- 1 TBSP good quality instant coffee (OR ideally an espresso)
Method
- Blend the above in a blender and serve immediately. It does tend to separate out, so stir well if left to stand for a little.
